What are Page Impressions?
We measure how much the site is visited by logging the number of times users request a page on the web site - these are called page impressions. This provides us with a much more accurate method of calculating site users than by relying on 'hits', which actually measure the number of files (including all of the text, graphics and frames) that are downloaded on a web page. Using hits instead of page impressions would be like counting all the pictures, headlines and articles in a newspaper instead of counting the actual number of pages. When looking at traffic figures on various websites, make sure you compare like with like.
So what does this graph mean to you?
The graph shows the number of page impressions the Leisure and Living: Horticulture has generated over the last 4 years. An increase in page impressions means more visitors are coming to the site and/or visitors are looking at more pages on the site. Increasing numbers of page impressions mean more potential customers, but remember if you're not listed on Leisure and Living: Horticulture your customers can't see you!
Why are there dips in the data?
Leisure and Living: Horticulture is a business-to-business (B2B) site and as such the number of visitors mirrors an industry's business cycle. When business slows down, in December/January for example, the number of people looking at the site falls. Year-on-year, however, you can see the number of people accessing Leisure and Living: Horticulture continues to increase, and we are continually marketing the site to keep the number of visitors rising further still.
