The standards with which textile machinery manufacturers have to complyare becoming more and more onerous. The majority of the organisation in Europe have culminated in the need for companies to display the CE Mark on their machines to demonstrate that they comply with regulations.
What is often more confusing is that behind the CE Mark a complete dossier on the machine needs to be maintained so that if the manufacturer of the machine is challenged justification can be provided.
BTMA has employed as a consultant an individual who will advise members of how to comply with these regulations and supply documents that are required.
To ensure that the voice of the Association and its members is made known to the committees that create these regulations BTMA has representatives to attend these meetings. These meetings take place all over the world and those attending involve BTMA in considerable expense. It is to help to cover these costs it is necessary to charge an additional technical subscription which is described elsewhere in the document.
