Agency Agreements

Following the introduction of EU regulations concerning the agreementsprincipals have with their agents BTMA has prepared three documents whichmembers are able to use or refer to as they see appropriate and are available toMembers.

  • The first is a 'European Representation Agreement' which takes the EUrequirements into account particularly the more onerous.
  • The second 'Sales Consultancy Agreement' is an attempt to circumventthe more onerous EU conditions.
  • The third is a 'Standard Form of Representation Agreement' which canbe used with agents outside EU countries.

Conditions and Charges in respect of the Cost of Installation ofMachinery

Many members have expressed the view that when negotiating withcustomers they were often confronted with the claim that competitors wereoffering preferable conditions and charges for the installation of machinery.

This has led BTMA to produce two documents laying out guidelines formembers to help overcome these problems. Their introduction has enabled membersto produce, at the time of negotiation, a definitive document thus enabling themto demonstrate that they are within Industry guidelines.

Two documents have been produced; one for use within the UK, the otherfor use overseas.

These are freely available to members.
